Join us for an engaging and highly practical online workshop presented by Dr Fiona Truscott (UCL, London), one of the IEC’s international partners.
Title: What are students actually using GenAI for? Insights from practice
This session explores findings from a three-year study involving more than 3000 engineering students, focusing on how students are using Generative AI in their studies. Dr Truscott will share key insights into the AI platforms students use, the purposes for which they use them, and how they formulate prompts in academic contexts.
The workshop will include:
- Research findings and practical insights from real student data
- Discussion of trends in student GenAI usage within engineering education
- Interactive small-group discussions following the presentation
- Opportunities for participants to reflect on implications for teaching, learning, and assessment practices
